Lunch cards automatically include a mobile payment option, thus card holder may pay lunch either with card or mobile phone. During 2017 mobile payment will be possible also for recreational and cultural benefit.
Edenred's employee benefit payment instruments in a nutshell
Edenred’s solutions for lunch benefit includes two cards and a voucher; Ticket Lounas® and Ticket Duo® cards and Lounasseteli™ voucher. Lunch cards automatically include a mobile payment option.
The employer can offer the lunch benefit as a fringe-benefit or as a meal deduction:
Lunch benefit paid as fringe-benefit is taxable remuneration and will be processed within withholding, and as a wage in payroll accounting. The taxable value paid of the lunch benefit will be added to the wage in which case the employee will pay the taxes according to his/her personal tax percentage. The employer will pay the face value of the value loaded to the lunch card but can deduct it within taxation.
As a meal deduction, the employee pays the tax value of 75% of the value of the lunch benefit, in minimum of €6.40 in which case there will be no taxable benefit. The employer pays the difference between the face value and in the tax value but can deduct it in the taxation.
